Jawline Shaping
What is Jawline Shaping treatment?
GLOSKIN Jawline Shaping is a combination of:
- 50 units of jaw Botox, to help reduce the look of a large or prominent masseter muscle.
- 1 dose of Chubby Cheek Injection, 3 cc, to help reduce localized fat in the cheek area that makes the face look full.
This combination is designed to help create a slimmer-looking face with a more defined jawline, without surgery.
What concerns can it address?
Jawline Shaping can be considered to help with:
- A lower face that looks wide or square
- Jaw muscles that look large when biting
- Cheeks that look full or chubby
- Less defined facial contours
- A jawline that is not very visible
- A face whose left and right sides look slightly unbalanced
- A lower face that looks heavier
- Jaw clenching or teeth grinding habits accompanied by an enlarged masseter muscle.
A wide-looking face is not always caused by fat. The cause can be muscle, fat, bone, loose skin, or a combination of factors. That is why a doctor’s examination is very important before treatment.
How does it work?
Jaw Botox
Botox is injected into the masseter muscle (the jaw muscle). Botox helps reduce muscle activity in a controlled way. As muscle activity decreases, the masseter can gradually become smaller, so the lower face looks slimmer.
Chubby Cheek Injection
Chubby Cheek Injection uses a lipolysis agent aimed at localized fat in the cheek area. This treatment helps gradually reduce the volume of fat cells, and the remainder of the process is cleared through the body’s natural mechanisms.
This treatment is aimed at fat under the skin that can be reached and is judged safe by the doctor. Chubby Cheek Injection cannot always address deep buccal fat and does not automatically replace Buccal Fat Removal.
Who is it suitable for?
This treatment can be considered for patients who:
- Have large or active jaw muscles
- Have a face that looks wide when biting
- Have mild to moderate localized fat in the cheek area
- Want a slimmer-looking face without surgery
The treatment may be less suitable if a wide face is mainly due to bone structure, there is fairly severe loose skin, or the face is already thin and lacking volume.
How long does the procedure take, and what is recovery like?
The procedure usually takes about 30-45 minutes, including preparation and marking the area. After treatment, patients can generally return to their activities. However, temporary reactions may appear, such as:
- Redness at the injection points
- Mild to moderate swelling
- Bruising
- Pain or discomfort
- Cheeks that feel firmer or more sensitive
- A jaw that tires more quickly when chewing
Swelling from Chubby Cheek Injection can be more visible for a few days. Recovery time differs for each patient, depending on the body’s response and the products used.
How many sessions are needed?
Jaw Botox
Usually you can start with one treatment, then evaluate. Maintenance can be done when the activity and size of the masseter start to return.
Chubby Cheek Injection
Some patients need more than one session to get a suitable change. The number of treatments depends on:
- Fat thickness
- Size of the cheek area
- The body’s response
- Skin elasticity
- Target face shape
Follow-up treatments are only done after swelling subsides and the doctor has evaluated the results of the previous session.
When will results start to show?
Results from the two treatments appear at different times.
Jaw Botox results
- Muscle activity starts to reduce within a few days
- Contour changes start to show around 2-4 weeks
- Results become clearer within 6-12 weeks
- The effect can last about 4-6 months or more, depending on muscle strength, dose, metabolism, and jaw clenching habits
Chubby Cheek Injection results
- Swelling may appear first after the procedure
- Changes usually start to show after a few weeks
- Results develop gradually after the inflammation and fat cell clearing process is complete
Final results differ for each patient and are influenced by anatomy, fat thickness, diet, weight, lifestyle, and the body’s response.
Does it need to be combined with other treatments?
Jawline Shaping can be combined with other treatments if needed, such as:
- UltraLift Liftera, to help tighten skin and sharpen contours
- Exilis Face or radiofrequency, to help improve skin firmness
- Chin or jawline filler, to improve facial projection and structure
- Threadlift, to help lift tissue that has started to sag
- Botox Nefertiti Lift, to help improve muscle pull in the jaw and neck area
- Body contour and weight management programs, if facial volume is related to excess weight or body composition

Consult with a GLOSKIN doctor
The success of Jawline Shaping depends on correctly identifying why the face looks wide. Before the procedure, your GLOSKIN doctor will:
- Examine your face at rest and in motion
- Assess the strength and size of the masseter muscle
- Ask you to bite to see the muscle contract
- Assess the thickness and location of cheek fat
- Check the symmetry of the left and right sides of the face
- Assess skin firmness and how well the skin can adapt
- Decide whether you need Botox, Chubby Cheek Injection, or both
- Adjust the dose based on the product and your condition
- Explain realistic results and possible side effects
