Rejuran Scar
What is this treatment?
Rejuran Scars is a special treatment to help improve pitted acne scars and depressed scars. The material is thicker, so it can be placed more precisely on the problem areas of the skin.
What concerns can it address?
- Pitted acne scars
- Rolling scars (wide, wavy scars)
- Boxcar scars (box-shaped, deep scars)
- Depressed scars
- Certain surgical scars
Uneven skin texture
Small but deep scars, or ice pick scars, usually need an additional procedure such as TCA CROSS.
How does it work?
Rejuran Scars is placed directly in the scarred area to help improve skin structure and stimulate collagen and elastin formation.
Improvement happens little by little because the skin needs time to build new tissue.
Who is it suitable for?
- Those with pitted acne scars
- Those with depressed scars
- Uneven skin texture
- Those who have had scar treatment but are not yet satisfied with the results
- Those who need a combination of treatments to improve scars
How long does the procedure take, and what is recovery like?
- The procedure takes about 15-30 minutes, depending on the size of the area.
- Redness, swelling, bruising, or small bumps may appear after the procedure.
- Recovery usually takes about 2-5 days.
How many sessions are needed?
Usually 3-4 sessions are needed, about 4 weeks apart. The number depends on the type, depth, and number of scars.
When will results start to show?
Mild changes in skin texture may start to show after the procedure. However, scar improvement takes several weeks to several months because collagen forms gradually.
Results differ for each person. Scars can improve, but may not always disappear completely.
Does it need to be combined with other treatments?
Scar treatment usually needs a combination, such as:
- Subcision to release tissue under the skin that pulls scars downward
- Fractional CO₂ laser to help even out the skin surface
- Microneedling RF to help stimulate collagen formation
- TCA CROSS for ice pick-type scars
Skin booster to help with moisture and skin quality
Everyone’s scar type can be different. That is why the doctor chooses a combination of treatments based on the shape and depth of the scars, rather than using one method for all scars.
Things to note before and after treatment. Before treatment:
- Tell us about all medications and supplements you take.
- Do not stop blood-thinning medication without your doctor’s approval.
- Make sure there is no infection or inflamed acne in the treated area.
Share your history of allergies and medical conditions.
After treatment:
- Do not press or massage the treated area.
- Avoid hot water, saunas, heavy exercise, and direct sun exposure.
- Use a soothing moisturizer and sunscreen.
- Avoid retinol, AHA, BHA, and strong active ingredients for 3-5 days.
- Do not peel or squeeze skin that is still recovering.
Consult with a GLOSKIN doctor
The doctor will:
- Determine the type and depth of your scars
- Assess whether there is tissue under the skin pulling the scars downward
- Check the size of the acne scar area
- Identify active acne and the risk of new scars forming
- Determine the points and depth of the procedure
- Assess whether Rejuran Scars needs to be combined with subcision
- Determine whether fractional CO₂ laser, microneedling RF, or TCA CROSS is needed
- Plan the treatment stages and the spacing between procedures
Explain that scar improvement happens gradually and results differ for each patient
Rejuran Scars is not always enough when used alone. Some types of scars usually need a combination of procedures so that each acne scar gets suitable treatment.
